Here is my point. When you’re on the road a lot, wearing the same, old traveller’s outfit (read: something that is first and foremost practical) just doesn’t cut it. Hiking shoes in urban spaces make all effort seem doomed, and do everything but amplify your look. Ideally, our luggage consists of staples, made to last, to be matched and mixed endlessly, and to serve their rights across all seasons.
Travel offers a sense of expression to our lives and so should clothing.
When the sun dips behind the crumbling facades of Cuban streets, the traveller’s outfit ought to be ready for a sundowner and a dance or two. When the most famed croissants of Paris are four blocks over, the traveller’s outfit ought to look as exquisitely curated as that of locals. When the waterfalls in the hinterlands of Vietnam aren’t as close by as the guidebook made them out to be, the traveller’s outfit ought to go that extra mile with you.
Footwear plays a crucial part in that equation. Comfort is essential, but so is style. To me, I look for a shoe that is as much of its time as it is timeless. Recently I have come across a new and unlikely source; one that’s sure to inspire needs among many other travelling shoe-lovers. Ziera is the label of the hour. In this look of the week and on my latest trip overseas in general, I chose to wear their Zara Bronze shoe.
Quality is clearly the watchword. After long days of exploring, my feet were surprisingly happy. And to pass on this gift of cheerful feet, I teamed up with Ziera and am giving away a $250 voucher to one lucky Kiwi gal. To find your favourite fit, go to Ziera’s online store and discover Ziera’s new Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
Most importantly, to enter the giveaway, comment below with the country you’d take your new shoes to and tag the friend you’d take along. To triple your luck, hop on over to my Instagram and Facebook [if you don’t already, follow me] and do the same. Entries close on Oct 31, 7pm.
