Bring on Spring

Bring on Spring

Forget the floral skirt. Spring time has more on offer than pastel blouses and ankle-gazer jeans. This year’s spring fashion sees a step away from the romantic classics and a much-welcomed revival of moody, edgy 90’s-esque inspired pieces. Cuts are clean, but the detail is rich. While I am not one to talk ‘trends’, as I regard fashion as a more enduring and personal venture, a new season brings new inspiration. It’s these new styles, rather than trends, I’d like to let you in on today. Here are four of my favourite looks – something cool, something new, something old and something that will never go away. Bring on spring!

Jump

Traditionally, jumpsuits tend to be rather tailored and noble. Again, take a new twist on it with weightless fabrics making you feel amazingly luxurious and comfortable at the same time.

Denim

Denim has so many facets. Think denim dresses, dungarees, jackets or shirts – it sure fits with any occasion. This season, it’s all about taking denim to the up a notch, embracing new styles apart from your go-to jeans, and finally making the classic more classy.

Maxi

For something that will weather a spring storm and still look great on the beach, go towards the long-sleeved maxi dress. The right cut and colour will make it much edgier and less formal than you imagine it to be.

Trench

Trench coats are just too good to let go of. This spring sees both light fabrics and colours giving the trench a much more relaxed and timeless feel.
