Dreaming

Dreaming

Bucket lists are a bit like New Year’s resolutions: you feel excited to finally fulfil your dreams but soon realise it’s not going to happen, at least not this year. One of the themes of this blog is to realise not only your potential but your dreams. It’s one thing to preach the importance of dreaming bigger, exploring more, and becoming the person you want to be. It’s another one to do it. Perhaps it’s the commerce student in me, but I believe that by creating a vision, making it measurable and setting benchmarks, dreaming can be turned into living. In fact, several studies have shown the positive correlation between writing down clearly formulated goals and achieving them.

For today’s post, I decided to do just that. Rather than sharing an epic bucket list, which is likely to be edited every couple of months, I will share nine things with you I dream of achieving. I dare you to do the same and if you feel like it, feel free to share it in the comments below.

Here we go:

1. Recreate this picture

(and change the Swiss flag into an Austrian one). This is all.

2. Jump Out of a Plane

It’s not often that I wish to lose control of everything.

3. Work With Vogue

As a fashion blogger, someone who live streams runway shows and counts Dior and I as one of the best movies of all time, working with Vogue is the ultimate dream come true.

4. Do a Masters in Anthropology

People, their intentions, their cultures, their desires and their ideas fascinate me. Travel and fashion offers great insight into this, but having the opportunity to take a closer look at the complex studies of humanity is something that I have always wanted to do.

5. Master Yoga

Practising yoga at not only a physical but also a spiritual level takes years to achieve. Oh, and being able to do this is not so bad either.

6. Participate in a Sustainable Aid Project

For me, contributing to the long-term prosperity and stability of a community in need is not so much about the notion of giving back, but it encompasses the idea that all of us can make a tangible and positive change for those who need it the most.

7. Summit Mt. Großglockner

Given the fact that my dad used to be a mountaineer and guided dozens of people onto the highest peak of Austria, it has been a live-long dream to step into his footsteps and take in the view that used to be his everyday.
Großglockner

8. Learn Arabic

While its traces lead back to 2500 BC, Arabic is also the 5th most widely spoken language in the world. So why not give it a try myself?

9. Never Stop Exploring

Never stop exploring is not just the tagline of this website (and North Face’s marketing campaign). It is about a constant desire to learn, grow, and see. It is also the only “goal” I will never be able to fully tick off, so the pressure is on. :-)

Happy Sunday! May your dreams be big and your Sundays be long and cosy.
