Sunday Waiheke Bliss

Sunday Waiheke Bliss

Yesterday was the last day of my 7 day journey around Northland and Auckland and it couldn’t have ended any better. It was one of those long Sundays filled with sun, friends, laughter and good food that will be remembered for long. And to top it all off, it was spent on a magical island off Auckland home to some of the country’s most renown vineyards.

Reality hit hard this morning as I stepped off the plane to be welcomed by a chilly -6°C. At the same time, I feel myself bursting with gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead.

Since I was out of reception for most of last week, you will find twice as many posts as usual in the following few days. For today, I’d like to keep it short and sweet and leave with you some impressions from yesterday’s Waiheke Island bliss.

A French drop of goodness, fresh organic food and life Jazz music at the Oyster Inn could not have made for a more perfect setting to end a day of serenity, good chats with my beautiful friend J., and sunshine.
