The 11th Reason Why New Zealand is the World’s Most Beautiful Country
Last week, I decided to try my luck and submitted an article on BuzzFeed. The post included 10 of my favourite shots I took of New Zealand’s iconic landscape over the last couple of years. Good news is that the people at BuzzFeed liked it, gave it a feature on their homepage and the article got over 50,000 views with over 4,000 social media engagements. Bad news is that I originally had an 11th reasons of why New Zealand was so special, which did not have as much of a ‘mainstream’ appeal as the photos did. So BuzzFeed decided to keep it short and simple and cut it out. This is why I’d like to take this opportunity to do two things.
First, I’d like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my readers and friends who support what I am doing, share my posts, give me feedback, and ultimately made it possible that over 30,000 people got to see how beautiful New Zealand is. So, thank you!
Second, I’d like to post the 11th reason for why New Zealand may just be the world’s most beautiful country. So here we go:
New Zealand is beautiful. That’s what they all say, right? While it can’t be denied that Aotearoa is one the most picturesque, scenic, or simply put, beautiful countries in the world, there is much more to it. After living here for a couple of years and (accidentally) calling myself ‘half Kiwi, half Austrian’, I have learnt a thing or two. New Zealand is a very easy, accommodating country to settle in to. The only hassle is getting a visa but once you are allowed to stay doors will be wide open. Kiwis are very open-minded, curious and inviting. But what I love most about them is that they are genuine. Their smiles are honest and their hearts are warm; which is something that is not so common in western countries. Whether you are into the outdoors, the arts, cuisine or all of the above (that’s me), New Zealand will not disappoint and is definitely worth the long journey.
In the following week I will post a number of articles on the aspects I appreciate most about the land of the long white cloud. Starting with my true passion (besides travelling, of course), I will feature my favourite Kiwi designers, fashion stores, and more.
